Nantes, surprising city that mixes history, endless creativity and ecologism. A modern city always in motion.
An English daily newspaper has elected Nantes as “the most crazy town in France”. We do not understand why: it is not because there is an elephant on an island and a giant skeleton of snake on the edge of the water that one must make a fuss about it. Or the intact castle of the Dukes of Brittany which faces a biscuit factory that looks like the Negresco. Let’s not talk about a banana shed or a giant yellow meter.
Years of slave trade that are a little tabou, a river that rises and descends like the lava of a volcano, wines of which we are proud since not very long ago.
Nantes is a city full of contradictions, a jewel of mystery, pride, history and originality.
