SKI/SNOWBOARD LEVEL

It is best to have a good ski level to enjoy the event.

WHAT’S THE SCHEDULE FOR THE WEEKEND OF THE EVENT?

POP IN LES MENUIRES WILL TAKE PLACE ON SATURDAY, march 30.

FRIDAY

You need to get to the ski resort on Friday evening the latest to collect your race material.

This takes place from 4pm to 9pm. If you cannot attend, you can also collect everything on Saturday morning from 7.15am to 7.45am.

SATURDAY

The event starts at dawn!

7.45: briefing and warm-up

9:00: start of the race, challenges open

17:00: end of the race, all challenges close

17:00-18.30: you can enjoy the activities on the Finish line, talk to the other teams, eat/drink something, go back to your apartments. 

18:30: award ceremony on the Finish line.

Throughout the day, you will live plenty of experiences and try to accomplish as many challenges as you can.

SUNDAY

After this intense day, you have a completely free day. You can decide to enjoy the ski runs with the discounted ski pass (-50%)!

Important information:

The award ceremony now takes place directly after the race, on the finish line.

How do we get there?

By plane

Fly to Lyon or Geneva and get a train/ski resort shuttle!

By train

From Geneva it takes from 3 to 4 hours to get to Moûtiers (60€ return).

From Lyon it takes 3 hours (60-70€ return).

The national rail SNCF train station for Les Menuires is Moûtiers Salins Brides Les Bains. Once you arrive at the train station, you will be able to catch a shuttle bus to the ski resort. The timetable is here.

 

By car

Don’t forget you can pick up a team at the train station on your way up to the ski resort! For this, you can post a message on the Facebook page for the event.

Outdoor parkings in Les Menuires are free.

Where will you sleep?

Here’s a list of the sleeping options available for you for your stay.

One one side you can get apartments in the ski resort (for 2, 3 or 4 people), pre-booked for the Popins from Friday onwards. 

If you decide to stay for 3 nights, the 3rd night is free!

 

If you want to come earlier, you can stay the hotel HO36 (our team basecamp!), they’ve offered special prices for the Popins in their dorms and hotel rooms. Unfortunately they’re fully booked on Saturday. Just ring them to say you’re a Popin if you want to get a bed there!

GEAR and ski pass

Ski pass

As participants to Pop In the City, you’ll get 50% off the ski pass for both Saturday and Sunday (= 28,40€). 

If you wish to ski on Sunday, you can buy your ski pass directly at the ticket booth and get the discount simply by showing your Pop In bracelet on your wrist!

When you book your accommodation through the official Les Menuires booking process (you’ll get a link in the confirmation email), the discount will automatically be applied for the ski pass.

 

gear

You can ask for skiing/snowboardin gear when you book your accommodation. You’ll simply need to notify this when you do your booking! Once you’re in Les Menuires, you can choose the right gear for you, and pay.

As a reminder, it is compulsory to wear a helmet for the race.
